Japanese summer features
There are a lot of things to do or go in the summer in Japan.
Especially, large firework displays are one of the famous summer features.
Some fire works display last almost 2 hours. Do you think it is too long? It sounds like long, but when it comes to watch it, you might feel it finish such a short time. The time pass so quickly when you focus on watching. For me, it is so beautiful that I sometimes forget to think about anything. Every time when I see the view of the fire works in the sky, I am so moved because of its beauty. Besides, even it is really traditional things, but every year we are able to find something new thanks to the effort of the firework technicians. New color, style, shape, and so on.
It is kind of main event in the summer. If you are in Japan during this term, it is really worth joining Japanese fire works festival. You will be able to feel the Japanese "Matsuri" atmosphere and eat various kind of street stalls at the same time. You can find "Takoyaki", "Okonomiyaki" even some sweets there.
My hometown, Okazaki city is really famous for the large fire works festival. (It takes around 30 minute from Nagoya station by train) It will be held on Saturday, 5th August in Okazaki. If you are in Nagoya area or close to Aichi prefecture, I would love you to visit there.

Surprisingly, there are more than 500 fire works festivals all over Japan including small one. I'm not sure that the other countries have it as many as in Japan but I think this number is pretty high. Sometimes you can see the fire works accidentally when you drive the highway, haha.
If you join these festivals in the summer, you can easily find lots of people wearing " Yukata". "Yukata" is kind of "Kimono" for the summer. There are so many Yukata pattern. Each person wears his/her favorite one . There are some rental shops for temporary use. If you would like to experience the Japanese culture not only see it, this shope will help you make the precious memories.
I hope you will be able to enjoy staying Japan with a lot of fun!
