Six Months Apartment

Six months in a foreign country is a long time. If your stay is temporary but not exactly short, we recommend seriously taking the time to find the right apartment for you. It’s not impossible to move out if you don’t like your initial flat, but of course, it’ll cost you double the money and time. You want to make sure you make the right choice on your first go.

First, remember what you’re coming to Japan to do. If you’re on business, you’ll want a place that’s close to your workplace. If you’re a student, easy access to your school is a must. Public transport is well-developed in Japan, so as long as you’re not residing in the countryside, it’s not difficult to live in the suburbs without a car. Remember that location and livability are key for longer stays.

Once you’ve found an apartment that fits your locational needs, it’s time to determine whether the property is suitable for a six-month stay. If you can’t visit the flat beforehand to see it in person, one indicator of livability is the price tag. Check the average rent for similar rooms and compare it to the one you’re considering. If your property of choice has a significantly lower price, you should figure out why, as it could affect your final decision. Should you have any questions, get in contact with the landlord or real estate agency.
